Bethlehem Foundation is an evangelical Christian organization founded by Olnick Duverné and his wife, Rose-Mada Pierre-Louis. After receiving God’s call in November 2009, right after high school, the Lord appeared to me like a friend speaking to a friend: “If you truly love me, shepherd my flock.” This terrible call frightened me because I didn’t want to commit to pastoral ministry. At that time, I was only 23 years old, and I had been leading the youth ministry in my church for three years.  And since then, every year we have sent children in vulnerable situations to school, until 2019 during the COVID-19 pandemic when the Lord appeared to us again asking us to go to the community of Trou-Gilot, one of the poorest communities in Haiti. Barely 2 years after our marriage, we have our very successful family business selling building materials, and in 2021 we left everything to devote ourselves to full-time ministry in this very vulnerable community, which we did not even know before. More than 96% of the children in this community never go to school, they do not have birth certificates, their parents even forget their date of birth.  My dear wife and I, a very committed woman of God, a woman of prayer and conviction, a young mother who cares about others, responsible for the youth ministry in her church for more than ten years before our marriage in March 2018, have dedicated everything we have to take care of her children, teaching them to know the word of God, giving them a hot meal, clothes, shoes, and we established in April 2021 the Bethlehem Evangelical Church of Trou-Gilot, and set up a Christian school in October 2021, to teach them to read and write, but also to teach them to know God’s plan for their life.  In July 2024, we graduated more than thirty young professionals from our vocational school, which we created specifically for our children and for all young people in Haiti who lack the necessary means to pay for vocational school. Unfortunately, in August 2024, I left Haiti due to the excessive gang violence throughout the country, and after several direct attacks on me, to go to the United States in search of a better life to feed more than a hundred sons and daughters still under our care in Haiti. My dear wife Rose-Mada is still there with a solid and dynamic team; she is the administrator and co-visionary of the Bethlehem ministry in Haiti.  Upon arriving in the United States in 2024, the Lord asked me to continue our ministry here, and it was in Brooklyn, New York, that we opened a new house church about five months later.This must be said with all sincerity, as a visionary pastor of the Bethlehem ministry, who received God’s call to a noble task at a very young age, and the Bible says:Acts 1:8; But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.I became convinced that the Lord did everything for a purpose; He did nothing by mistake or accident.  We are not only witnesses of God in a desert in Trou-Gilot, Haiti, to evangelize vulnerable children, but we are also witnesses of this great and extraordinary God in New York, one of the largest states in the United States, to evangelize all nations, regardless of their origins.
